Privacy Policy — Happy Name Day
Effective date: 3 August 2026 Last updated: 3 August 2026
Happy Name Day (the “App”) is published by Bingkil (“we”, “us”, “our”).
This policy explains what happens to information when you use the App. The short version: the App does not collect, transmit or sell any personal data. Everything you set up stays on your device.
If you have questions, contact us at happynameday@bingkil.com.
1. Summary
| Do we require an account? | No |
| Do we collect personal data? | No |
| Do we use analytics or crash reporting? | No |
| Do we use advertising or tracking SDKs? | No |
| Does the App send data to our servers? | No — we operate no servers for the App |
| Does the App work offline? | Yes, entirely |
| Is data shared with third parties? | No |
2. Information stored on your device
The App saves a small number of preferences so it can work the way you left it:
- the name day calendar (country) you selected;
- the names you marked as favourites;
- whether daily notifications are switched on, and the time of day you chose;
- whether you have completed the initial setup screen.
This information is written to the App’s private storage area on your device, which is protected by the operating system and is not readable by other apps. It is never transmitted to us or to anyone else.
You can erase all of it at any time by clearing the App’s data in your device settings, or by uninstalling the App.
3. Name day data
The name day calendars are bundled inside the App when you download it. The App does not look anything up online, so we have no record of which names or dates you view or search for.
4. Notifications
If you enable daily notifications, they are scheduled locally by your device’s operating system. There is no push server, and no push token or device identifier is created or sent anywhere. We have no way of knowing whether you enabled notifications or what time you chose.
Notifications are optional. You can turn them off inside the App, or revoke the notification permission in your device settings at any time.
5. Feedback you send us
The App’s “Send Feedback” button opens your own email app with our address filled in. Nothing is sent until you choose to send it.
If you do email us, we will receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to read and reply to your message and to improve the App. We do not add you to any mailing list, and we do not share your message with third parties. We keep correspondence only for as long as it is useful for support purposes, and you may ask us to delete it.
6. Permissions the App requests
- Notifications — only if you choose to enable daily reminders. Declining does not affect any other feature.
The App requests no other permissions. It does not access your contacts, calendar, camera, microphone, photos, files or location.
7. Third parties
We do not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, attribution or tracking services.
Two things are outside our control and worth knowing about:
- Apple and Google. When you download or update the App, the App Store or Google Play processes that transaction under its own privacy policy. They may provide us with anonymous, aggregated statistics such as total download counts. We cannot identify individual users from these.
- Links to our website. The App links to pages on bingkil.com. Once you follow a link you are on a website, governed by that site’s own terms.
8. Children
The App is suitable for all ages and is not directed specifically at children. Because it collects no personal data from anyone, it collects no personal data from children.
9. Your rights
We hold no database of users, so there is nothing about you for us to retrieve, correct or export. Data stored on your device is entirely under your control and is removed when you uninstall the App.
If you have emailed us, you have the right under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to request access to that correspondence, to have it corrected or erased, to object to or restrict its processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Slovakia this is the Office for Personal Data Protection of the Slovak Republic (Úrad na ochranu osobných údajov Slovenskej republiky).
The legal basis for handling feedback emails is our legitimate interest in responding to users who contact us.
10. Sale of personal information
We do not sell or share personal information, and we never have. This includes the meanings given to “sell” and “share” under the California Consumer Privacy Act.
11. Security
Because no data leaves your device, there is no transmission to intercept and no server of ours to breach. Locally stored preferences are held in the App’s sandboxed storage, protected by your device’s operating system and, where enabled, its device encryption.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change how the App handles information, we will update this page and revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will also be noted in the App’s release notes.
